The DofE are looking for a passionate and strategic External Affairs Policy Manager to join our dynamic team. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to drive meaningful policy change and create sustainable impact for young people in line with our Youth Without Limits strategy.

 You will lead the development and delivery of DofE’s policy work, advocating for policy changes that enhance our mission and support DofE's work across Government.  Providing evidence-based insights and influence key stakeholders, including Government officials, civil society, and businesses, to implement policy proposals that will improve young people's life chances.

 This role requires a strong understanding of public policy, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, as well as our network of youth ambassadors and external partners.  While developing and leading the delivery of DofE’s policy work to create sustainable change for young people, through designing and managing internal research and policy studies, from desk research to fieldwork, analysis, and reporting.

 We are looking for a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of public policy and a passion for making a difference in young people’s lives.

  • Strong knowledge of public policy issues affecting young people.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering successful policy strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives

(e.g. DBS/PVG or similar), including references covering any gaps of employment/education, confirm eligibility to work in the UK and complete a health check.

**The geographical allowance is based on a member of staff having a home or office-based postcode within 30 miles (as the crow flies) from Charing Cross, WC2N 5HS. The allowance is 7% capped at £4,000 per annum.
