This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

As part of our new five-year strategy, Youth Without Limits, we want to ensure the DofE is relevant, engaging and inspiring for young people. We’ll do that by using our voice to influence debate and decisions on issues that affect young people’s life chances and wellbeing – particularly around education, employment opportunities and mental health. In this newly created role, the External Affairs Manager will help us build our approach and network in these areas. Your work will also include elements of policy, advocacy and communications.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in external affairs, but broader skills are important too; in particular, a keen political awareness, a strong news sense and the ability to pick up a brief quickly. You’ll be a compelling writer, contributing to speeches and opinion pieces, including for our CEO. We’re a small organisation – so you’ll need to be versatile and hard-working; both self-starter and a team-player. Crucially, you must be a champion and enabler of young people - working with them to contribute to our influencing work and have their voices heard.
